Chicago

Second to None

There is nothing Chicago can’t or won’t do, and we’ve been lucky enough to work with some truly incredible partners here: designers and woodworkers that built Michelin starred Longman & Eagle; syndicated national Chicago radio programs from WBEZ like Sound Opinions and This American Life; music editorial disruptionists Pitchfork; Nirvana producing sonic legend Steve Albini, improv legends Second City; indie-rock venue stalwarts Empty Bottle, Schuba’s, Lincoln Hall, Thalia Hall and Promontory; internationally recognied artists Sonnenzimmer and Cody Hudson; and galleries like Corbett vs Dempsey, and our very own Public Works.

After all, we had "The Chicagoan" long before there was ever a “New Yorker.”

Humor and Brains

We’ve worked with the cream of the crop when it comes to smart entertainment and cultural criticism. Through strategic branding, we've ensured that these progressive institutions continue to set the bar in comedy and journalism in the years ahead.

As part of our work with The Second City, the famed improv theater group that continues to cement Chicago’s reputation as the funniest city in the world, we completed a rebrand to seamlessly showcase their irreverence and wit.

For WBEZ, we polished up their logo and design system, and rebranded their hit syndicated show Sound Opinions.

The New Music Frontier

The Chicago music scene is jam-packed with hard-scrabble, passionate DIYers. Between partnerships with Empty Bottle, Lincoln Hall, and Promontory, and an endless amount of album covers, photography, and websites under our belt, we continue to support the ingenuity of Chicago’s local talent, gritty venues, and experimental recording studios.

Real Food

The ever-expanding culinary scene in Chicago is as eclectic as its many neighborhoods. To convey the uniqueness of our restaurant partners—many of which blur the line between highbrow and lowbrow—we get to know the group (and grub) on an intimate level.

Art for the People

As designers with one foot in the commercial world and one in the fine art world, it’s a pleasure to get to work with some of the most impressive artists and galleries in the city.

Giving Back

We’re always excited to do work for those giving back to the community in a significant way. We were very proud to develop a new brand for Tutoring Chicago, an amazing organization dedicated to providing free one-to-one tutoring and mentoring to economically disadvantaged children.
